High school student Rakuro Hizutome has a strange hobby of playing disorganized games—ones that are so imbalanced or riddled with flaws that they’re borderline unplayable. A few of his favorites will recognize him by his in-game name Sunraku. Rakurou's suggestion for his next game is Shangri-La Frontier, a popular and well-received virtual reality game that's a break from the horror games he's been playing lately Once he starts the game, Rakuro decides to sell off most of his starting gear for extra money, leaving behind two boxers, a bird mask, and a weapon that he quickly absorbs when clever way to perfect his avatar. But after encountering some terrifying monsters, he realizes he may have underestimated the challenges mainstream sports can present. As Rakuro progresses, he must use all the skills he has perfected from previous game experience. Before long, Sunraku's incredible play style takes the Shangri-La Cintier by storm..
